Dani has a job. She pays taxes, buys food and is an integral part of the workforce.
Dani keeps the outdoor areas of Piers 55/56 and the buildings next to the stadiums looking sharp. She takes pride in sweeping and cleaning the window sills, and rushes to greet people or open the door for them. Martin Smith, her employer, loves working with Dani—so much that her supervisor asked Northwest Center to expand the contract and hire another person with a disability from Northwest Center.

Northwest Center is cooking up something new for this year’s Golden Hearts Luncheon. We are inviting a celebrity guest chef to do a cooking demonstration and speak to the power of inclusion. In a recipe, each ingredient adds something to the dish and creates a deeper experience. While in society, each person brings something to the table—and makes our community stronger.
And, to make it even more fun, we are collecting recipes from you—our loyal supporters—to create an inclusion cookbook. To submit your recipe, just fill out our form.
You are invited to join us to create something special. With your help, we can bring together 500 community leaders and guests to create inclusion opportunities for all people in our community. Our luncheon this year will be held at the Washington State Convention Center. We will be raising funds to support inclusion of adults and children with disabilities like Down syndrome, autism and cerebral palsy.
We want to thank our many sponsors who make this event possible. Sponsorships help us ensure that 100% of the donations we receive at the luncheon go directly to our programs. For questions, e-mail us or call 206-378-6379.
